Children and young women SOLD.  OWNED.  ENSLAVED.  Their dignity and human rights stripped from them.

The Against Our Will Campaign is focused on ending modern-slavery through the dedication of college students.

"The name mtvU's Against Our Will Campaign, reflects the simple fact that this violation of our most basic human rights is against the will of the college students mobilizing around the issue, against our will as a free society, and against the will of those trapped in modern-day slavery."

I will add one more statement.  Modern-day slavery is against the will of God. 

In Isaiah 58 the people of Israel confront God:
"We have fasted before you!" they say. "Why aren’t you impressed? We have been very hard on ourselves, and you don’t even notice it!"

God replies:
“I will tell you why!” I respond. “It’s because you are fasting to please yourselves. Even while you fast, you keep oppressing your workers...This is the kind of fasting I want: FREE those who are wrongly imprisoned; LIGHTEN the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and REMOVE the chains that bind people."

"This is what the LORD says: Be fair-minded and just. Do what is right! Help those who have been robbed; rescue them from their oppressors. Quit your evil deeds! Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans, and widows. Stop murdering the innocent!"  Jeremiah 22

SO WHAT CAN WE DO?

Whether you have 1 minute, 1 hour, or 1 day, there is SOMETHING you can do to fight against modern-day slavery.  The Against Our Will Campaign lays out several opportunities, and one doesn't need to be a college student to take advantage of most of them.  Tweak the suggestions, create your own ideas, but now that you know about this horrendous injustice, please DO SOMETHING.  And please comment with new ideas! 

God uses His people to heal the world.  Join Him in abolishing this evil once again.
